Dermatofibromas

  • Benign, non-cancerous skin growths

  • Typically occur on arms, legs, back, and neck

  • Caused by minor skin injuries, insect bites, or ingrown hairs that trigger skin cell growth

Characteristics

  • Small, firm, round/oval bumps

  • 0.5-1.5 cm in size

  • May be itchy or tender

Treatment

  • Usually none needed

  • Surgical removal if painful, itchy, or for cosmetic reasons
