Tinea Versicolor
This condition is caused by an overgrowth of Malassezia, a naturally occurring yeast that is normally present on the skin. When it grows excessively, it can lead to patches of discoloration and scaling.

Antibiotic or steroid use
Hormonal changes
Symptoms
Patches of skin discoloration (white, pink, or brown)
Scaling or flaking skin
Itching or burning sensation
Treatments
1. Topical antifungal creams, shampoos, or lotions (e.g., selenium sulfide, ketoconazole)
2. Oral antifungal medications (e.g., fluconazole, itraconazole) for severe cases
3. Keeping the skin clean and dry
4. Avoiding tight clothing and harsh soaps
5. Using an antifungal soap or body wash
